Description: The aim of this project is to develop a vibrant and sustainable cocoa value chain in Bundibugyo district. Description: Latitude is a social enterprise in Uganda producing and exporting specialty cocoa, bean to bar chocolate and cocoa derivatives. The company works with over 5000 certified organic cocoa farmers in Uganda to provide training and a stable market for wet cacao purchased directly from registered farmers at rural village collection points. Latitude operates central fermentation and drying facilities for the production of fully traceable specialty cocoa from several regions of Uganda, supplying chocolate companies in the US, EU and Asia markets. Latitude also produces its own bean to bar chocolate brand (Latitude Craft Chocolate), cocoa powder and cocoa butter at its factories in Kampala for sale in East Africa, US, EU and Japan markets.
